USA – ROME overnight and meals on board

ROME

Upon your arrival at Rome airport, you’ll be met by our tour escort and transferred to your hotel for dinner and overnight.

ROME: THE VATICAN MUSEUMS, ST. PETER BASILICA, THE SCAVI

Buffet breakfast.,Meet with your local guide to begin a full day tour to Christian Rome, starting with the Vatican Museums, Pigna Square, the Galleries of Roman Busts, the Candelabra, the Tapestries and the World Map Gallery. Then to the Immaculate Room, the Sistine Chapel with the Universal Judgment of Michael Angelo, the interiors of the Basilica of St. Peter with the statue of LA PIETA. The tour ends at Piazza St. Peter. In the afternoon, possibility of visiting the SCAVI and the Tomb of St. Peter (this visit should be arranged with more than one year ahead of time and in case is confirmed, it will be limited to a reduced number of persons: 10 to 12 maximum). Return to you hotel. Dinner and overnight.

ROME: Ancient city

Breakfast at the hotel. Meet your guide to start a visit to ancient Rome: the Coliseum, the Roman Forum, the Palatine Hill, the Capitolio with Vittorio Emmanuele Monument. In the afternoon, drive to visit the Arch-Basilica of St. John Lateran, being one of the oldest basilicas in Europe and is the official Church of the Diocese of Rome. Continue to St. Mary Major, the largest Catholic Marian Church in Rome. We will end up our tour by visiting the Cathedral of St. Paul outside the walls. Return to our hotel for dinner and overnight.

ROME: the Papal Audience and a walking tour in old Rome

Breakfast at the hotel. Meet your guide and transfer to the Piazza of St. Peter to participate in the Papal Audience. In the afternoon, we’ll take a walking tour in Rome starting with Piazza Repubblica, Santa Maria della Vittoria, Piazza Barbarini, Piazza di Fiori, Piazza Spagna, the Fountain of Trevi…etc. farewell dinner in a restaurant in the Trastevere quarter. Overnight at the hotel.

ROME – TEL AVIV – TIBERIAS or NAZARETH

Breakfast at the hotel. In due time, transfer to Rome airport to board your flight to TEL AVIV. Upon your arrival, you’ll be met by our representative and guide and transferred in bus to your hotel in Tiberias or Nazareth for dinner and overnight.

NAZARET – CANA OF GALILEE – HAIFA – MOUNT CARMEL

Breakfast at the hotel. We will start our day visiting the Basilica of the Annunciation:
The House of Virgin Mary, the Upper Basilica, the Church of the Holy Family and the Evangelical village. Continue to Cana of Galilee where the first miracle took place. Visit the Church of the Wedding with the possibility to renew the wedding vows.
Proceed to Haifa: the major industrial city and the main port. Ascend to Mount Carmel for a visit to the Shrine of Stella Maris, cradle of the Carmelite Order. Enjoy a panoramic view of the city and the port of Haifa. Visit also the Persian Gardens of the Bahai’s sect. return to your hotel for dinner and overnight

SEA OF GALILEE AND MOUNT TABOR

After breakfast, leave to Mount of Beatitudes to recall the Sermon of the Mountain. Continue to Tabgha (Heptapegon) for a visit to the Church of the Multiplication of Fish and Loaves, admiring the well conserved Byzantine mosaic from the fifth century. Then visit the small chapel of the Primacy of St. Peter before heading to Capernaum, the Town of Jesus for a detailed visit of its ruins: the remains of the House of Peter, the “Insula Sacra” and the White Synagogue. Then, you will experience a boat ride crossing along the Sea of Galilee.
In the afternoon, ascend to Mount Tabor and visit the Basilica of the Transfiguration, built of on the ruins of two earlier sanctuaries: Byzantine and Crusader. Descend and return to your hotel for dinner and overnight.

JORDAN VALLEY – JORDAN RIVER – JERICHO – DEAD SEA – QUMRAN – BETHLEHEM

After breakfast, leave Tiberias through the Jordan Valley and travel southwards to the Jordan River where we’ll have the possibility to renew our baptismal vows. Then continue to Qumran to visit the ruins of the Essenes Monastery and view the Caves of the Scrolls.
Transfer then to the Dead Sea for a possible bath in its salty waters. Continue to Jericho, considered as the oldest city in the world for a visit to Tel El-Sultan, the site of the biblical Jericho and view of Mount of Temptation. In the afternoon, drive through the Judaean Desert, passing by the Good Samaritan Inn to Jerusalem for a first contact with the Holy City from the top of Mount Scopus. Arrive to your selected hotel in Bethlehem for dinner and overnight.

BETHLEHEM – THE SHEPHERDS' FIELD – NEW CITY OF JERUSALEM – EIN KAREM

Breakfast at the hotel. We’ll start our day with a detailed visit to the Basilica of the Nativity: the Grotto of Nativity, the Manger, St. Catherine Church, St. Joseph and St. Jerome Chapels. Continue to the village of Beit Sahour to visit the Shepherds’ Field with the natural grottos and the remains of the Byzantine churches and monasteries.
In the afternoon, we’ll take an orientation tour through the New City of Jerusalem, passing by the Knesset (the Parliament) and the Hebrew University to the Israel Museum for a visit the Model of Jerusalem from the Second Temple. (possible to visit also to the Shrine of the Book which hosts most of the Dead Sea Scrolls and findings). Continue then to Ein Karem, the birthplace of St. John the Baptist for a visit to the Church that recalls his birth and the one of the Visitation.

JERUSALEM: MOUNT OF OLIVES AND MOUNT ZION

After breakfast, drive to Mount of Olives for a visit to the Ascension Chapel and then to Pater Noster Church. Walk down to the small Chapel of Dominus Flevit and enjoy a panoramic view of the Holy City with all its major shrines. Continue to the Garden of Gethsemane for a visit to the Church of Agony (called also of All Nations) and Mary’s Tomb in the Josaphat Valley.
In the afternoon, explore Mount of Zion: St. Peter in Gallicantu, David’s Tomb, the Last Supper Room (The Cenacle) and the Dormition Abbey. Then entering Zion’s Gate, walk through the Cardo Maximum and the Jewish Quarter to the Wailing Wall. Back to your hotel in Jerusalem for dinner and overnight.

JERUSALEM: OLD CITY

Breakfast at the hotel. Transfer to the Lions’ Gate and enter the Old City for a visit to St. Anne Church and the Pool of Bethesda. Continue then walking through the Via Dolorosa (the Way of the Cross) to the Basilica of the Holy Sepulcher for a detailed visit to Mount Calvary, the Holy Tomb and St. Helen Chapel. Free afternoon to stroll through the streets of the old city of Jerusalem. Return to your hotel. Farewell dinner
with folkloric dance show at a typical oriental restaurant.

BETHLEHEM – TEL AVIV –USA

Breakfast at your hotel. In due time, transfer to Tel Aviv Airport to board your back home.
